Can you believe it’s already the middle of September?

The month has literally flown by with all that’s been happening, and still there’s lots to look forward to in October too. Here are the latest events that have been added to the
calendar. As always, don’t forget to check out the Quick Recap Section at the bottom of the post for a full listing of all upcoming events, included those previously covered in previous posts.

0921-cais-boarding-schools-fair

Investigate the academic opportunities for your child abroad, at the CAIS Boarding Schools Fair on Wednesday, September 21st and Thursday, September 22nd.
To be held from 4pm to 8pm at the Hamilton Princess within the Princess Victoria Ballroom, the fair will give parents and students a chance to chat with representatives of esteemed Canadian boarding schools.
Schools attending will be: Albert College, Appleby College, Bishop’s College School, The Bishop Strachan School, Havergal College, King’s-Edgehill School, Lakefield College School, Pickering College, Rosseau Lake College, Rothesay Netherwood School, St. Andrew’s College, Stanstead College, and Trinity College School.
For over 20 years, CAIS Boarding Schools have been travelling to Bermuda to meet with families who are interested in a Canadian boarding school education for their children. Just last year, CAIS Boarding Schools welcomed 30 Bermudian students to their campuses.CAIS Boarding Schools continue to be impressed by the quality of students that come from Bermuda each year. Bermudian students have a solid foundation at their local schools, and come to CAIS Boarding Schools ready to integrate into the life of a busy boarding school. In fact, many of them develop into leaders in their residences, the classroom, and in the areas of arts and athletics. Bermudians graduate from CAIS Boarding Schools and become active alumni of their alma maters, promoting their schools proudly and staying involved long after graduation. This is a free event. For more information, contact Fiona Parke, Interim Director of Outreach, CAIS Boarding Schools, at fparke@cais.ca.

Morning Troops!

NTDIB August 24th

I for one refuse to accept that summer is over quite yet, but I’m sad to say that some of the seasonal activities are already finishing up.  Next week is the LAST Harbour Nights of the season, for example!  On the bright side, when the temperature start cooling down, the events calendar really starts to heat up.  Check out the latest events to be added to the Bermuda calendar below:

As always, don’t forget to check out the Quick Recap section at the bottom of this post for a full listing of all upcoming events, including those previously covered in earlier posts:

0826 Bermuda Society of Arts

There are two new exhibits opening at the Bermuda Society of Arts (BSoA) in City Hall on Friday, August 26th.

The show entitled Fresh Emerging Artists will be displayed in the Onions Gallery.   BSoA invited 7 artists, who you may not be to familiar with to display current works of various mediums.  Their Emerging Artists show is always inspiring and fresh.

In the Edinburgh Gallery, BSoA presents Fashion Forward, a prelude exhibition to their popular Fashion Collective show that will be held on November 3rd 2016. Look forward to seeing the art of fashion displayed from the designers themselves.

The grand opening of this show will be from 5pm until 7pm on Friday, August 26th.

Opening hours are from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Friday, and from 10am until 2pm on Saturdays. The exhibits will run until Tuesday, September 13th.  BSoA is the oldest gallery in Bermuda, changing shows every 3 weeks and housing a great gift shop with works from local artists.

Admission is free, although donations are appreciated, and all are welcome.

For more information, contact 292-3824 or bsoa@ibl.bm, or visit www.bsoa.bm. Continue reading this post…
