Morning Troops!

I don’t know about you but I love having this extra hour of daylight in the evening – I am rarely productive in the mornings anyway so don’t really care if it’s still dark when I wake up.  Anyway, lots of Bermuda events coming up over the next few weeks:

St Paddys Day at Lemon Tree

A sure sign that sunny days are coming back, Wine Down Happy Hour at Lemon Tree is back this Friday, March 15th.  The relaunch coincides with their St. Paddy’s celebration featuring Irish grub, green beer and Guinness. For any newbies or tourists, the legendary Lemon Tree Wine Down Happy Hour runs from 5pm until midnight throughout the summer with a DJ and regular drink specials. Instead of a cash bar, you buy drinks tickets at $7 each or 10 for $60, meaning that the bar service is much quicker and it’s easier to get rounds in because all drinks are the same price. Later in the year, Lemon Tree will also open out to Par-la-Ville Park, depending how crowded it gets.  For more details see their Facebook Page or website at www.lemontreecafe.bm.

Happy Hump Day Troops

Spring is finally in the air!  Not only is it starting to get a little warmer but the clocks go forward this weekend, giving us an extra hour of daylight.  Here are some things to do in Bermuda with all that extra sunshine:

Butterfly Angels Sale

There will be plenty of shopping and family fun at the Butterfly Angels White Elephant Sale on Saturday, March 9th. This event has been organised by 15 year old Capri Duque to support Agape House and will be at St. Anthony’s Church in Warwick from 10am til 4pm.  In addition to the sale, there will also be a raffle, fun castles, cotton candy, hot dogs, popcorn and more. If interested in being a table vendor, the cost is $25.  For more information, or to book a table, contact butterflyangels@northrock.bm.

Happy Friday Troops!

Much as we needed our tanks filled, fingers crossed for a dry weekend!  Here is a quick update of what’s coming up in Bermuda:

Bermuda Fun Golf

Bermuda’s newest fun spot is having its Grand Opening today.  Bermuda Fun Golf is an 18-hole mini golf course at Royal Naval Dockyard, which promises as much fun for the avid golfer as it does for the whole family.  Their winter hours will be 3pm until 10pm on Fridays and noon until 10pm on Saturdays and Sundays.  More details are available on their website at www.fungolf.bm.

Hi Kids!

If you have been on the Calendar View section of the website recently, you may have noticed a few changes.  I have upgraded this section so it now includes filtering by categories as well as a calendar-specific search.  It also works dramatically better on mobile devices than the previous version did so please have a play around and let me know what you think.  Also, the Quick Recap below now links directly to the calendar entry for that event – no more searching through the original post to find the details you’re looking for!  All part of my mission to make NTDIB the best resource for finding out what’s going on in Bermuda!  Speaking of which, here are the latest Bermuda events:

Tomorrows Voices

Tomorrow’s Voices, Bermuda’s Autism Early Intervention Centre are hosting the first workshop in their year-long Training Institute tonight.  Applied Behavior Analysis: A Tool Kit for Analysing and Improving Learning and Behavior will be facilitated by Tomorrow’s Voices Senior Therapists, Ms. Emma Martin, BCBA, M.Ed and Ms. Natasha Pedro-Petty, M.A., from 6pm until 8pm in the Sunshine League building at 27 King Street.  The cost is $25 and participants will receive professional Development Certificates for attending. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can RSVP to tomorrowsvoices@northrock.bm or 297-4342.

Hi Kids!

So, it would appear that EVERYBODY wants to be in Bermuda right now!  Not only do we have our Spring Break visitors here to party but it looks like we are also being invaded by Harvard and Duke Universities next month.  Here are some of the latest Bermuda events:

Festival Impressions

First up, a little update on what’s currently exhibiting at Bermuda Society of Arts in City Hall.  In the Onion Gallery, the Bermuda Festival of Performing Arts: Festival Impressions is an exhibit of works inspired by previous Festival performances.  In Studio A is Edwin Mortimer’s first showing of works carried out over 20 years, A Dauber’s Journey, while Studio B is exhibiting Photography by Raleigh International, featuring their alumni’s photographs from their expeditions to Namibia, India, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Borneo.  Edinburgh Gallery is exhibiting Works by Seasons Learning Centre.  All exhibits will run until March 5th.
