Morning Troops!
I know people in colder climates scoff at us for saying things like this but I’m feeling pretty chilly right now and am already looking forward to Spring! Luckily, there are lots of things to do in Bermuda over the coming months to take my mind off of it. Keep active, keep warm! Apologies to anyone reading this from outside of Bermuda who is now irritated at me and thinking about how they had to dig their car out of snow this morning. I guess you’ll just have to plan your next trip here soon:
Bermuda Department of Tourism are bringing back their Love Month series of events from now until March 3rd. The activities include a Couples’ Golf Tournament at Port Royal Golf Course from 8.30am until noon on Mondays and Thursdays with 50% off green fees. Tuesdays are Champagne and Strawberries Afternoon Affair from 1pm until 3pm. After complimentary access and a guided tour of Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art in the Botanical Gardens, you can relax in the Rose Garden and enjoy champagne, chocolate and fruit while listening to a local saxophonist. On Wednesdays, the Love Train City Tour will depart the flagpole at 11am, giving a guided tour of romantic spots in the City of Hamilton until noon. On Thursdays, Dockyard Glassworks will be offering a Demonstration from 2pm until 4pm, with a free gift of a handmade glass-blown heart. There are three separate Friday activities, starting at the flagpole from 11am where Town Crier Ed Christopher will be your tour guide for Shopping in the City, teaching you historical facts and helping you find discounts until noon. The Love Cruise will depart Albuoy’s Point at 2pm on Fridays, taking you on a tour of Hamilton Harbour with musical entertainment and complimentary refreshments before returning at 3.30pm. The final Friday activity is SalsaMania Fridays at Rumbar, from 8.30pm until midnight, featuring choreographed routines, special couples’ instruction, beverages and music. On Saturdays, you are invited to meet at the Town Hall in St. George’s for the Love Tales Walking Tour. From 10.30am, you will learn about Bermuda’s greatest love stories while discovering locally made products, finishing at 11.45pm, just in time for the historical reenactment at 12 noon. Also on Saturdays, you can relax with a drink in Heritage Court at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess and be serenaded by Robert and Jamie from 9pm until midnight. All of these, with the exception of the Couples’ Golf Tournament, are free with no reservations required. Outdoor events are weather dependent so call 292-0023 to confirm.
